Software & AI Engineer · Music Artist
Professional Profile
I grew up in Sudan and started making music at 16, long before I touched a computer. I formed bands, performed live, and spent my teenage years learning what it means to create something and put it in front of people. That early experience shaped how I approach everything I build today — with intention, attention to detail, and the understanding that the thing you make has to work for someone, not just work on paper.
When I found software engineering, I found the same creative process I loved in music, just in a different medium. I studied computer science, earned my MSc with a focus on artificial intelligence and machine learning, and spent years building applications, managing infrastructure, and designing networks for startups and data science labs. Along the way, I picked up deep expertise in Linux and Windows system administration, cloud architecture, DevOps automation, and network engineering.
Today, I'm a senior-level engineer comfortable across the full technology stack. I write production code in Rust, TypeScript, and Python. I design and deploy infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes on AWS. I administer Linux servers (Ubuntu, Debian, Arch, NixOS) and Windows Server environments. I work with databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis — optimizing queries, designing schemas, and setting up replication and backup strategies. I build CI/CD pipelines, implement security scanning in development workflows, and monitor production systems with Prometheus and Grafana. I understand networking from the OSI model down to BGP and OSPF configuration. And I'm comfortable with the full ML lifecycle — training models, deploying them, building RAG systems, and working with LLM architectures.
In 2022, after years away from music, I returned to the studio. I produced KAKASHI, my debut EP under the name Mawja — Arabic rap, Sudanese rap, hip hop. It wasn't a career pivot. It was me reconnecting with something I'd left behind and realizing I didn't have to choose between being an engineer and being an artist. The two inform each other. Engineering rigor keeps me grounded. Creative work keeps me inspired. My next EP, Rockstar, is set for release in August 2026.
I currently operate through Zaroxi Studio — my company for software development, AI engineering, developer tools, and consulting. I'm open to contract work, collaboration on interesting projects, and opportunities where deep technical skill meets real-world impact. If you need someone who can architect a system, write the code, secure the deployment, and debug the production outage at 3 AM — all without making things more complicated than they need to be — we should talk.

University of Technology
Specialized in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Thesis on neural network architectures for natural language processing.
Tech University
Focus on distributed systems, network architecture, operating systems, and systems programming. Graduated with honors.
I build in the open when possible and share what I learn. Most of my tools and configs are public.
Security is not a checklist to run before launch. It's part of how you design, build, and deploy from the first commit.
Complexity should earn its place. If you can't explain your architecture to another engineer in five minutes, it's probably too complicated.
If I do something twice, I automate it the third time. Infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, reproducible builds — these are not luxuries, they're how you ship without breaking things.
